The Gershon Laboratory is a multi-disciplinary group of psychiatrists, geneticists, nurses, computer specialists, and technicians. Our mission is to determine the human genetic variation that increases the risk for mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and depression, so that better methods of diagnosis and treatment can be developed. Our laboratories are located on the ground floor of the Jules F. Knapp Research Center at the University of Chicago. Our clinical research group is located on the 3rd Floor of the University of Chicago Hospital.
